Located in mid-Wales, close to the market town of Knighton is Wigwam Holidays. Situated on a working farm, these glamping pods offer the ideal place in which to embrace outdoor living. With an idyllic position, observing views of valleys and rolling hills far into the distance.

Both Red Kite and Buzzard have the same open plan layout. They are perfect for couples, or for families of up to two adults and two children. Even better, WigWam Holidays accept two small dogs or one large dog in their Red Kite pod.

New for August 2024, Wigwam Holidays has opened the doors to their third pod, Owl. Owl, is slightly different from the first two pods enjoying a glazed front and being slightly larger. It comfortably sleeps 4 guests and like the first two pods, has it’s own private hot tub.

Inside

Each of the pods offer ‘studio style’ living. Bright with natural light, enter into the lounge and dining space. The sofa, which handily turns into a bed come night-time, is a cosy spot to snuggle up on. There’s also a dining set for four, along with a Smart TV. Next, you’ll find the kitchenette. Small, yet perfectly formed, it is furnished with a fridge with small freezer compartment (ideal for ice cubes to add to your G&T), microwave, two hotplates, toaster, kettle and a sink. You also have a comfy double bed, and a handy ensuite shower room. There’s no need to tramp outside to the loo in the middle of the night here!

Outside

You cannot fail to be charmed by the outside at Wigwam Holidays. With a lovely grassed area, ideal for the kids to play on. All while you relax at the picnic seating with a glass of something chilled. Cook al fresco at the fire bowl, which comes with a swing over arm for cooking. Or get creative with your toppings at the wood fired pizza oven. And don’t forget your swimming costume! In prime position to enjoy the best of the views, is your private electric hot tub. There is no better place from which to enjoy the end of the day as it transforms into a sparkling night sky.

Wigwam Holidays is well placed to explore the beauty of mid-Wales. In just over ten minutes, you can be in the market town of Knighton. Here you can find the Offa’s Dyke Visitor Centre. Learn more about the history of the eighth century 177 mile walking trail. Or pull on your hiking boots and sample a part of it. And if those late night sessions in the hot tub have had you looking skywards, head to the Spaceguard Centre. Enjoy a tour of this working observatory and find out more about the vital work they do. A little further afield is the charming town of Presteigne, which houses the Judge’s Lodging. And if history is your thing, Wales is your perfect destination! Within the hour, Powis Castle, Montgomery Castle, Ludlow Castle and Croft Castle and Parkland are ripe for exploration. And for those travelling with younger children, a day out to the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre is just half an hour away. Last but by no means least, head to the Elan Valley, where there is something to see and do for almost everyone. From bike trails to walks overlooking the magnificent waterfall-like dams.
