Escape to North Cumbria, close to the Scottish border and just twenty-five minutes from Carlisle. Tucked away on the Netherby Estate, is this beautiful Scandi inspired cottage. Once the home of the estate’s gamekeeper, it occupies a private spot with acres of private woodland to explore from the doorstep. Beckside Cottage has two bedrooms, sleeping up to four people with a maximum of two well behaved dogs welcome too. A beautiful space for couples, families or friends to retreat. Surrounded by natural beauty you can savour the peace and quiet. With basic television and very basic Wi-Fi, take the opportunity to turn off those devices and detox from the modern world. Enjoy quality time together. Conversations, laughter and fun will be the soundtrack to your getaway. And one that you’ll long to play over and over again.

Recently refurbished to a high standard, Beckside Cottage is a real treat. Neatly balanced somewhere between rustic and vintage, it has a welcoming and homely feel. Warm woods and natural, earthy tones complement the space perfectly. Enter into the open plan living space, containing a lounge and dining area as well as a fully equipped kitchen. It is the beating heart of this home. Snuggle into the sofa, or an armchair around the wood-burning stove. Perhaps select a good book from the well-stocked bookcase, behind which you’ll find the kitchen. This is a modern space that is as functional as it is beautiful with those striking earth-red cabinets. And whatever you rustle up, the whole party can devour with relish while seated at the dining set. Head to bed in one of the two bedrooms, a king size master plus a twin.
