Located on a traditional working family farm on the edge of Thruscross Reservoir in Yorkshire, is Breaks Fold Farm. Three beautiful shepherd’s huts await your arrival; Swaledale, Herdwick and Wensleydale, all named after breeds of sheep.

Designed especially for adults, these stunning abodes will have you feeling right at home in no time at all. Centrally heated for year round use, they are well equipped and cosy, perfect for a romantic break for two.
The location is exceptional, with stunning views across the Yorkshire landscape. In a prime position, lace up those hiking boots and explore the Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale AONB and Washburn Valley. All are within easy reach of Breaks Fold Farm, as is the spa town of Harrogate.

Inside

Beautifully and thoughtfully designed, each shepherd’s hut at Breaks Fold Farm is slightly different in terms of decor. With the fresh greens of Swaledale, or the modern blue of Herdwick, you’ll feel instantly soothed and refreshed. Wensleydale is the latest addition, and is slightly larger, featuring a king size bed and a larger kitchen space. Ideal for those who are enjoying a slightly longer stay or just prefer a little more space. All three properties share the same facilities. With indoor dining, plus a comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchenette. Ideal for simple meals and snacks, you’ll have a dual induction hob, microwave and small fridge with an ice box. Finally, putting the glam into glamping, is your stylish ensuite shower room.

Outside

The glamping area of Breaks Fold Farm is private and exclusive to the shepherd’s huts. Here you have an elevated deck with furniture. Perfect for an early morning cup of tea with a view. The firepit grill fulfils the dual purpose of cooking tasty meals and taking the chill off the evening. But for the ultimate in relaxation, as an optional extra, book the spa hot tub. Strip off your fluffy white robe and relax into those warming bubbles, preferably with a glass of fizzy. Recline your heads and feast your eyes on the sparkling night sky.

Although Breaks Fold Farm offers a haven of peace and tranquillity, it’s brilliantly located for getting out and about. Within forty minutes or less, you can visit some of Yorkshire’s best loved towns and cities. The spa towns of Harrogate (make a beeline for a Fat Rascal at Betty’s) and Ilkley. The market towns of Otley and Skipton. Or the cathedral city of Ripon. And if you want to go that little bit further, you can be in York in just over an hour. Gin lovers will be happy to stay a little closer to home and enjoy a distillery tour at Whitakers Gin. National Trust Brimham Rocks is a fascinating day out. A landscape filled with natural rock formations, with stunning scenery to boot. Clamber up high and enjoy a picnic with a view. For a day out, Bolton Abbey and Fountains Abbey offer beautiful walks around their extensive grounds.
