Glamping goes green at this beautiful, environmentally conscious site.
Situated amidst one hundred acres of nature reserve is Secret Meadows. Within easy reach of the Suffolk Coast AONB, it is located just ten minutes from the riverside town of Woodbridge.
Secret Meadows offers a range of eclectic accommodation choices. A family friendly site, the six safari tents each sleep six people apiece. While for a slightly larger group, the luxury two storey safari tent sleeps up to eight people. Meanwhile, Gypsy’s Rest and Horsebox Hideaway each sleep up to a maximum of four people but are well suited to couples. The site can also be booked for groups, sleeping up to 54 people across all accommodation.
While you may enjoy days out and about around Suffolk and beyond. The offering onsite is very tempting, particularly if you’re keen to embrace the full outdoor experience. There is a brilliant range of add on packages on offer to enhance your stay. You can try your hand at taking care of your very own hen coop. And while eggs can’t be guaranteed, just the thought of a freshly laid egg for breakfast is yummy. Secret Meadows is home to cattle, goats, hens and rabbits which are included in their ‘Meet the Animals’ and ‘Goat Walking’ activities. Try your hand at bush crafts such as wood whittling or bow and arrow making. Kids will love joining in with den making. While parents may enjoy a treat such as a yoga session or a relaxing, holistic treatment.
So much more than a break, Secret Meadows allows you to sample a complete change of pace and outlook.
Each of the accommodation options at Secret Meadows are fabulously well-equipped. In keeping with the eco-ethos supported across the site, only three have electricity. But with oil lanterns and solar fairy lights all included, you’ll barely realise you’re without. And one of the safari tents is especially in touch with the modern world, coming not only with electricity, but Wi-Fi too.
All properties are beautifully decorated with a vintage theme throughout. Each has its own kitchen space, with a woodburning range for cooking and heating, or a single woodburning stove. For those who prefer their heat a little more instant for cooking, all have a gas hob. Each has their own private toilets and showers, with Gypsy’s Rest in particular having a quirky layout. A gypsy caravan and shepherd’s hut provide two separate sleeping areas, with a private loo and shower building behind the hut. Whichever property you choose at Secret Meadows, you are sure to fall in love with the whole experience.
With each property at Secret Meadows occupying space close to the woodland, you’ll be enamoured with the natural setting. Outside you’ll be able to dine al fresco at the picnic bench. With your table filled with treats cooked to perfection on the Kadai barbecue. Keep that fire burning as the barbecue doubles as a firepit. Pull up a deck chair and huddle around, keeping the chill of the night air at bay. And if you’re lucky enough to stay in one particular safari tent, you are in luck. With access to your own wood fired hot tub, soak those troubles away beneath the sensational sparkling night sky.
The area surrounding Secret Meadows and beyond has plenty to keep all guests entertained and happy. The most local town, Woodbridge has plenty of shops and eateries. Stroll along the River Deben, or visit the working flour mill, Tide Mill. Framlingham is around twenty five minutes away, home of Framlingham Castle.
