Sited near to the rustling whispers of ancient woodland, is a cabin designed to take you away from it all.

Located on Westley Farm in the glorious Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is Arcadia. Born from a passion to create a sustainable eco-retreat, the cabin is an entirely bespoke design created from greenwoods from the farm and built using traditional English techniques. The stained-glass windows are salvaged and much of the furniture is built from locally milled wood, ensuring that the cabin has as little impact on nature as possible. Entirely off grid, Arcadia features a state-of-the-art solar power system, with a boiler powered by bottled gas for hot water. And no Wi-Fi means you can really unplug from your everyday and immerse yourself in the beauty of a simpler way of life. But a simple and sustainable life doesn’t need to be sparse – with luxurious fabrics and impressive, homely comforts, you’ll feel wonderfully spoiled!

Inside

Welcoming warm wood tones and vintage accents await you in Arcadia. The open-plan living space – which feels larger thanks to the impressive arched roof – includes a sumptuous king-size bed, a day bed and a leather sofa. Tactile fabrics, including locally-sourced hand-woven blankets add a homely, cosy feel to the cabin. The kitchen area comes with an induction hob and compressor fridge. And the Esse woodburning stove not only heats the room, but also has an oven and hot plate – perfect for rustling up simple meals to plate up on the bespoke, handmade crockery. And in the rear, you’ll find the shower room, with running hot and cold water, plus a composting loo. Everything you need for the perfect romantic getaway has been thoughtfully provided.

Outside

You can truly experience the magic of outdoor living at Arcadia. Select a good book and companionably rock back or forth together on the swinging bench. Light the barbecue for an al fresco feast at the outdoor dining set. And make sure you plan ahead and get the wood fired hot tub toasty warm for an evening dip beneath the stars. Dry off and cuddle up in fluffy blankets as you lounge on the Adirondack chairs. With the fire bowl crackling between you, the resident owl hooting from the trees, and the night sky twinkling. It’s hard to imagine anywhere more perfect.

Nearby

The farm and the woodland surrounding Arcadia is ripe for exploration – but you may fancy going further afield. Plan a few hikes, this being the Cotswolds there are so many options, many with fantastic pubs and cafes en route! Walk the canal path on the farm’s edge to nearby Stroud and discover its vibrant arts scene and Farmer’s Market. Or perhaps stop by Stroud Brewery for something to eat and drink. Seven miles away is Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool, as well as the historic Roman town itself. If you’d like to try your hand at water sports, there’s no better place than the Cotswold Water Park. And for lovers of heritage and buildings with royal connections? Both Berkeley Castle and Sudeley Castle are forty minutes away.
