Discover your own little corner of countryside paradise at Coppet Hill.
Located on a family farm in Dorset is this little slice of heaven. The owners have fully embraced biodiversity, farming the land using new environmentally friendly methods. And their accommodations fully echo this approach. Off grid, they are a love letter for the beautiful countryside setting they reside amongst. Guests are able to immerse themselves in the stunning location and reconnect with the plentiful wildlife. Explore the six hundred acres and eight miles of circular walks at your leisure. Weave amongst ancient woodlands and peaceful meadows. And the kids will adore discovering the secret holloways and sunken paths.
Choose from Two Hoots, a Landpod sleeping two adults and two children, which can be found alongside a wildlife pond. Or, the slightly larger Landpod, Little Coppet, sleeping two adults and up to three children. The hillside location allows for incredible views across The Marshwood Vale towards Lyme Regis. Or push the boat out and opt for the more spacious Churchay Lotus Belle Tent, which occupies its own private meadow. And you’re not completely without modern comforts as all three have solar batteries to power the lighting. And you can also charge your phones and tablets. Just in case you’re not fully ready to disconnect from the outside world!
Each of the choices of accommodation at Coppet Hill has something a little bit different to offer. Two Hoots is all about being outdoors. With two double bunk beds and seating space, the indoor space is an ideal escape from wet weather. But this is for those who truly wish to experience outdoor living. Little Coppet is slightly larger in size and accommodates an extra person in an additional single bed. It also has a more sizable seating area along with a beautiful log burner. Ideal for when the nights turn cooler. And Churchay is the most luxurious. Furnished with a beautiful central rug, it features a king size bed and a log burner to keep the space toasty warm. Recline in comfort and stare up at the stars through the skylight panels. Pure bliss!
Each accommodation at Coppet Hill comes with full outdoor facilities, including an undercover alfresco kitchen. These all come with a gas hob and a large cool box, along with pots, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. You also have your own private bathroom ‘shed’, with an LPG powered hot shower and composting loo. And you can fully embrace outdoor living by chilling on your outdoor seating, while being warmed by the firepit flames. And for those staying in the Churchay Belle Tent, you have the added benefit of a Hikki wood fired hot tub. Nestled in a secluded tree strewn corner, it is the ideal spot to observe the views. Over rolling hills by day, or towards the constellations come night. Both Little Coppet and Two Hoots also boast the luxury of outdoor wood fired baths.
There is every chance that you’ll be more than happy to park the car for the length of your stay at Coppet Hill. And why wouldn’t you? With several pubs within walking distance, you can enjoy circular walks with a hearty pub lunch. Frequent the nearby Shave Cross Inn, less than a mile away. The Ilchester Arms in picturesque Symondsbury. The George at Chideock or The Anchor at Seatown. But if you feel like getting out and about, West Dorset is bursting with things to do. Budding paleontologists will be in heaven. Being near to the Jurassic Coast, with Lyme Regis, the hometown of Mary Anning, only twenty minutes away. The area is teeming with fossils to discover. The nearest town is Bridport, a hive of hustle and bustle with a plethora of indie shops and cafes to explore. As well as a vintage and antique quarter, and a twice weekly street market. For those who enjoy a spot of history, the award-winning Mapperton is twenty minutes away. With Forde Abbey, a former Cistercian monastery, being twenty five minutes away. For families, you may be keen to visit Axe Valley Wildlife Park or Dorset Falconry Park, both less than thirty minutes away.
