Situated in the stunning Ayrshire countryside in Scotland, is Freedom Fields Glamping pods. Two beautiful and incredibly luxurious pods built for couples in need of a romantic retreat. And fur babies are welcome too (but please keep them on a lead at all times as there are sheep and horses in the nearby fields). With only two pods on site, Heather and Bracken are perfectly placed to offer privacy and seclusion. But close enough for two couples to hire one apiece and be able to share evenings together with only a short stroll. Located on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, which offers three hundred square miles of enchanting wild beauty. Freedom Fields is an ideal spot for those looking to get outdoors and enjoy all nature has to offer. And it really does deliver here. With valleys, rugged rock faces, expansive moorlands, deep lochs as well as rich and diverse wildlife. And after a tiring day, you’re only a short ten-minute walk from the village of Straiton and the local pub! This is a getaway where you can truly get away.

Inside

From the moment you walk into your Freedom Fields Glamping pod, you’ll feel relaxed. Heather and Bracken are both tastefully decorated in a neutral palette with nature-inspired accents, and the effect is soothing. Each has an open plan living space, with a chaise sofa and Freeview TV. While the electric wood burner gives a speedy firelit ambience to any romantic evening. Rustle up simple meals and snacks in the stylish kitchen, where you’ll find a hob, microwave and fridge. And there’s no tramping to outdoor facilities here, with your own ensuite with walk-in shower. And come bedtime, trail your hands along the rustic wood balustrade as you climb the curved stairway. With twinkling fairy lights guiding the way to your sumptuous king-size bed on the galleried mezzanine.

Outside

In an area renowned for its outdoor beauty, it’s only appropriate that the outside at Freedom Fields Glamping reflects this. Sited to make the most of the views across the meadow and to the hills beyond. There is little doubt that the outside space will become a favourite spot. From your first morning coffee to cooking and dining al fresco with the aid of the barbeque. Toasting marshmallows over the firepit as night falls. And there is no better place to take advantage of the view of the glorious night sky than your private wood fired hot tub.

Although your stay at Freedom Fields may be spent exploring the nearby Galloway Forest Park. There is plenty more to see locally and a little further afield. If you fancy a change of scenery, why not head to the seaside? The coastal village of Maidens, with it’s long sandy beach and grassy foreshore, is only 25 minutes away. You can also reach the seaside towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon within forty minutes or less.  If you’re sitting in one of these towns gazing across to the iconic silhouette of the Isle of Arran, why not take a day trip? In less than an hour you can reach Ardrossan and take the ferry across. Experience island life for yourself and discover why people return time and again. If you’re keen to stay on the mainland, you can be exploring Glasgow in around an hour. Or stay a little more local and immerse yourself in Scottish heritage. The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum is just over twenty minutes away and is a must for literature fans. Culzean Castle, managed by the National Trust for Scotland, is a brilliant day out. Or perhaps you’d prefer to take in the scenery on a heritage steam train ride from Doon Valley Railway?  For the golfers among us, pack your clubs and visit the world renowned golf course, Trump Turnberry, which has stunning views of the coastline, castle ruins and Turnberry lighthouse.
