Situated within private woodland in a unique canal side location in South Yorkshire, is Hawthorn Hideaway. A fantastic array of wellness facilities awaits you, as well as beautiful accommodation options.
All adult only and created with couples in mind, Hawthorn Hideaway is all about getting away from it all. Stay on dry land in either Owl or Swan Lodges. Or sample life on the water in Kingfisher, a plush narrowboat. You can opt for a static stay and simply enjoy all the local area and site has to offer. Alternatively, bring along your sea (canal) legs and head out solo (training provided). Or hire a skipper to lay back and enjoy a relaxing day trip out on the water.

Ideal for those looking for romance or celebrating a special occasion. A birthday, anniversary or newlyweds on minimoon…. or simply just because. And with a plethora of additional extras on offer, such as private dining in one of the onsite yurts. A couple’s massage perhaps? Or tuck into a delicious afternoon tea. And included in your stay are bookable private sessions in the steam room, sauna and the BBQ Hut.

Inside

To ensure a quiet and contemplative experience, Hawthorn Hideaway is limited to just three unique properties, each sleeping two people.
The two lodges, Owl and Swan, are both situated in a secluded woodland location. Owl is decorated in mahogany and warm tones, while Swan is bridal inspired. Featuring studio style living, the open plan space houses the ornate king size bed alongside dining and lounge areas. Although centrally heated, you may wish to create a romantic ambiance with the woodburning stove. Allow those flickering flames to heat the space while casting a warming glow. For movie nights, there is a Smart TV (Wi-Fi included). While your meals are covered, thanks to the fully fitted kitchen. Coming with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher. And to the rear you’ll find your lovely, spacious shower room.
Meanwhile, out by the canal side is Kingfisher, a 57 foot narrowboat transformed into a cosy abode. The heart of the boat has been transformed into a beautiful living area. Complete with a wood burning stove and a breakfast bar for indoor dining. It’s a gorgeous space in which to snuggle up. You also have a fully fitted kitchen, and a sumptuous king size bed as well as a stylish shower room.

Outside

Each of the accommodations at Hawthorn Hideaway have the luxury of their own outdoor space.
Both of the lodges have a private decking space, while Kingfisher has a canal side spot next to its mooring. Along with a range of seating options, including lush daybeds, all three have the benefit of a fire bowl to keep the chill off a cold evening. Naturally, any romantic break is made all the better with a bubbly dip in your own private hot tub. Raise a glass and make a toast to happy memories beneath the beautiful night sky.

Hawthorn Hideaway is a space that has the ability to provide the type of break you want. If you’re seeking quiet contentment, it’s right here. But if you prefer to be out and about in search of sights and adventures, you’re in luck too. Bordering three counties, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, there is plenty to see and do. Cycle or walk from the doorstep and take the towpath along the Chesterfield Canal. Spanning forty six miles, it will definitely earn you a few calories! Head into Nottinghamshire and visit Sherwood Forest, the home of the legendary Robin Hood. There are three market towns within a fifteen minute drive; Bawtry, Retford and Gainsborough, each with shops, bars and eateries. While Yorkshire Wildlife Park is just twenty minutes away. No trip to Lincolnshire is complete without a visit to the historic city of Lincoln, just forty minutes away. See both Lincoln Castle and Cathedral, and you can also have fun tackling Steep Hill, which definitely lives up to its name.
