Minimum stay for this property is 2 nights.
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Wharfe Valley, Howgill Lodge offers luxurious indoor comfort and breath taking outdoor beauty.
This hidden gem is ideal for those seeking a North Yorkshire glamping experience that combines the tranquillity of nature with modern amenities. With panoramic views over the Wharfe Valley, Howgill Lodge features four spacious timber lodges, each uniquely designed to offer a memorable stay. Accommodating up to six guests, each lodge includes two bedrooms – one double and two singles – plus a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area. Located on the prestigious Duke of Devonshire’s Bolton Abbey Estate, these glamping lodges are the perfect place to escape and enjoy the natural beauty of North Yorkshire.
Each lodge is named after a traditional rural occupation – The Gamekeeper, The Shepherd, The Fisherman and The Herdsman – with vibrant, bespoke decor reflecting the spirit of it’s namesake. These award-winning lodges boast open-plan living spaces, a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, and a cosy lounge complete with smart TV and a log burner.
The two bedrooms are situated at the rear of the lodge, and a separate shower room ensures ample space for all guests.
Step outside and enjoy your own private patio, perfect for al fresco dining and relaxation. Take advantage of the BBQ grill and fire pit for a true glamping experience, or try your hand at making pizza in the wood-fired pizza oven. Afterwards, unwind in your private wood-fired hot tub, under the dark skies of the Wharfe Valley, renowned for its stargazing opportunities.
Howgill Lodge is surrounded by breath taking walking trails, including the 10km trek to Simon’s Seat, a popular viewpoint offering panoramic views at 485m above sea level. Just 5 miles away, Bolton Priory on the Bolton Abbey Estate boasts a variety of scenic walking routes, perfect for the whole family. You can enjoy the fun, family-friendly Welly Walk, complete with obstacles for kids, or simply unwind by the river with a refreshing ice cream. For a bit of history, explore the ruins of Barden Tower, then treat yourself to a classic Sunday lunch at the nearby Priests House. The charming village of Grassington, recently featured in the new All Creatures Great and Small series, is just a short drive away. While nature enthusiasts will love the peaceful Parcevall Hall Gardens. After a day of exploration, treat yourself to a delicious homemade brownie from The Brownie Barn, located nearby, and enjoy the perfect end to your North Yorkshire glamping experience.
Families, couples and friends who want to pursue the ‘glam’ in glamping.
