Leave behind bricks and mortar and live a simpler existence in this traditional log cabin.
Nestled in a secluded spot in the corner of Quabbs Meadow, is Quabbs Cabin. Located just minutes away from the market town of Knighton, Powys in Wales. But you’d be forgiven if you felt you’d been transported to the set of a Western. With wide open countryside views in all directions and pure dark skies come nighttime.
Handcrafted with a sustainable ethos in mind, Quabbs Cabin is a rustic, yet luxurious space filled with eclectic pieces. Powered via solar panels, with a high level of insulation to keep the heat in. Local suppliers are used and even the timber used to build the cabin came from only six miles away.
From first concept, Quabbs Cabin was designed to be a haven. Mindful of its natural environment, it invites you to sit amongst nature and breathe. Relax into a slower pace and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Beautifully curated by the owners, Quabbs Cabin is the realisation of a dream. Rustic yet luxurious, vintage yet modern. It’s a quirky blend of special finds and upcycling which breathe character and life into the space. Settle onto the chaise corner sofa and snuggle in front of the log burner. The kitchen space is fully equipped for whipping up culinary feasts, with an oven, induction hob, microwave and Ninja air fryer. In the bedroom you’ll find the unique king size bed with, super cosy with sumptuous Clocktail cabinet pure bedlinen. Meanwhile, the bathroom is a real treat! Not only is there a rainfall shower, but a copper bathtub with the use of fluffy spa robes too.
Quabbs Cabin has the most wonderful wrap-around porch. Undercover so you can enjoy the outside life come rain or shine, with a variety of seating to choose from. Dine al fresco at the dining set, with the barbecue coming in handy for outdoor chefs. Or perch on the bench and watch the sunset. A few steps away is the firepit area, ideal for warming a cold evening. Or luxuriate in the warm waters of the wood fired hot tub. Whatever you choose to do in the evening, your attention will be pulled skywards. With no sky pollution, the dark sky is quite simply mesmerising.
Quabbs Cabin is best for couples who want to embrace an outdoor adventure. Nearby Knighton is known as the place to be for cycle breaks. With thirty two cycle routes around the area, there are literally hundreds of miles to explore. Knighton is also the place where two National Trails meet, Offa’s Dyke Path and Glyndwr’s Way. Just over twenty minutes away, and well worth a visit, especially if it’s been raining, is Water-Break-its-Neck. While Croft Castle & Parkland and Stokesay Castle are both around thirty minutes away. A little further afield you can discover the ‘foodie’ capital of Ludlow (thirty-five minutes). Or the historic town of Shrewsbury (one hour).
