About

On a working farm high on the Welsh border, stand three quirky glamping cabins. Beautifully constructed, each cabin sleeps 2 and is the perfect retreat after a long day exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. The views from Dragons Gate over the Monnow Valley will have you spellbound.

If you are looking for the ultimate glamping experience, then The Dragons Gate really must be on your bucket list! Enjoy rustic interiors, breath taking scenery, and pure peace and tranquillity. You’ll leave feeling fully restored and reconnected to your soul.

Inside

There are three cabins at The Dragons Gate, named The Graig, Pen Y Fan and The Cat’s Back. Each handcrafted with wood panelling and remarkable detailing. Fully equipped with bathrooms and kitchenettes, and not forgetting the luxurious king sized bed that will envelope you after your day’s adventure. The rustic interiors help you to fully appreciate the natural surroundings. Just imagine yourself nestled in warming sheepskin on the chaise lounge with a good read. Or waking up to the framed views of the Black Mountains and the Monnow Valley.

Outside

Each cabin has its own unique qualities when it comes to the exterior. The Graig has the luxury of a private outdoor wood fired hot tub, with views to die for! Truly breath taking, you’ll be shrivelled prunes as you find yourself spellbound. Take a morning dip and watch the mist arise from the fields beyond.

Pen Y Fan is raised above the ground on decking, creating a treehouse feel. Relax in the hammock below or release your inner child on the swing. Feel the stresses melt away as relaxation consumes you in the wood fired hot tub.  Be at one just soaking up the views of the expansive Herefordshire countryside that surrounds you.

The Cat’s Back boasts a soothing outdoor bath tub on the private decking, that’s big enough for two! The most romantic way to spend the evening as you watch the splendour of the sunset beyond.

Nearby

Situated in the village of Garway, The Dragons Gate sits on the Welsh border, right between The Brecon Beacons National Park and Wye Valley AONB. A glamping holiday isn’t complete without some outdoor adventures and here you will find plenty to undertake. From wild swimming in the river at Skenrith, to fishing on the River Monnow. Or perhaps rock climbing or caving are more your fancy? The list is endless. Try taking a hike up Garway Hill and splendour in 360 degree views over Herefordshire. Then take a walk into the village for a hearty pub lunch and delve into the village’s historical links to the Knights Templar.

Just a mile away is Skenfrith. Here you’ll find some fantastic walks along the river and have the opportunity to look round the castle. For a finer meal, head to The Bell to complete your day before returning to your cosy cabin.
