Perfect for family get-togethers and reunions with friends is this beautiful luxury home. The Water Mill is a Grade II listed property, which, as the name suggests houses a historical watermill.
Located in the scenic Derbyshire Dales, The Water Mill offers quirky accommodation with excellent facilities and gorgeous outdoor space. Make the most of the fresh air and local scenery. Or head out and about and discover all the local area and beyond has to offer.
Sleeping up to sixteen people in seven bedrooms it offers plenty of flexible space across three floors. With four zip and link bedrooms, one with an additional day bed. Plus, a bunk room, and two doubles, one of which also has a day bed. Four of the bedrooms have an ensuite, and you’ll find a bathroom on the first floor, and a shower room on the lower ground floor. With most the bedrooms also having plenty of room for a cot too. Spacious and beautifully planned and laid out, this is one very special home.
Renovated to an exceptional standard, The Water Mill is a haven of modern luxury set within a historic environment. Retaining characterful features, the workings of the mill are on display throughout. The lower ground floor in particular houses the Milling Observatory, which handily couples as a champagne bar.
The entire house is decorated in classic neutral tones with warm wood accents. Set across three floors, you’ll find the main living space on the ground floor. Here you have a large kitchen/diner, with seating for up to sixteen people. Well equipped, the kitchen is a keen chef’s dream. An electric dual oven range, fridge/freezer plus an extra undercounter fridge, microwave and dishwashers. And beat the morning rush with multiple toasters and kettles, and make sure you’re first in line for the Dulce Gusto coffee maker. The kitchen/diner heads through to the large lounge area. With a large sofa seating your entire party, it is here you’ll chill and relax, with games, books and DVDs available. Enjoy a film on the television, or simply enjoy laughs with your loved ones.
Enjoy the great outdoors during the stay at The Water Mill from the comfort of your own outdoor space. Two secluded patio areas, complete with outdoor furniture, are the ideal spot for lazy afternoons in the sun. The gas barbecue makes al fresco cooking a cinch. And when you’re ready to stretch those legs, take the ten minute walk to your private paddock. With picnic benches located in the woodland and by the stream, this is a beautiful spot. Make a day of it and bring along a picnic and a ball game or two. Come evening head back to The Water Mill and sink into the bubbling seven seater hot tub (an optional extra). Take in those rural dark skies and enjoy the peace and quiet of this remote countryside idyll.
While the remote location of The Water Mill is perfect for a break, it is close to many sights and attractions. Just a few minutes’ drive away is the historic town of Ashbourne. With the county town of Matlock Bath under twenty minutes away. Here you could take to the skies at the Heights of Abraham. Enjoying a cable car ride to the peak where you can dine, play and learn more about its mining history. For families who enjoy a hefty dose of fun, Alton Towers, Gulliver’s Kingdom and Matlock Farm Park are all less than thirty minutes away. But if country estates are more your speed, there is no shortage here. Tissington Hall is just a few minutes’ drive away. National Trust managed Ilam Park is around fifteen minutes’ drive. With Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall both being less than half an hour away. And of course, you have all the beautiful Peak District, as well as to explore at your leisure.
