Tucked away in a leafy spot in South Devon, Dittisham Hideaway Treehouses add luxury and novelty to the good old English seaside holiday. Each treehouse sleeps two adults, three children under 16 and two dogs (at three of the four treehouses). Your hosts have spared no effort in crafting your experience, which is sure to delight. Inside
Treehouse meets roundhouse, and each of the pleasing circular spaces feels like a luxury cabana somewhere far away! The kitchen is top notch, with a Nespresso coffee machine, oven, hob, microwave and fridge. The two bathrooms both have refreshingly powerful showers. Underfloor heating along with a woodburner makes this retreat cosy at any time of year. Smooth contemporary style with a touch of rustic charm, WiFi and smart TV. Honestly, you’ll want to move in for good!
You have a lavishly warm welcome in store: a hamper full of treats, wine, logs for the woodburner, a selection of books and games, plush blankets, towels, toiletries and bedding. Even your duvet is made sustainably in Devon. Adults have a king sized bed beneath the circular roof and stargazing window in the centre, with a super comfy luxury mattress. Children are tucked away cosily into a separate bedroom with triple bunks. Story books are provided and so is story-book magic!
Outside
Sandy toes will scamper and play for hours on the platform decking that wraps around your treehouse. Finding table football, outdoor chess, and cheekily bagging their spot on the hammock. There is also boule and ping pong down at ground level. Take morning coffee as you enjoy their delight, and gaze over the valley to the sound of birdsong. It’s easy to spend your day reading, dining al fresco and chatting. There is a Weber barbecue and you can pick herbs for your salad fresh from the pots on your deck as your food sizzles. Or peas and beans from the veg patch on site. Pour something tasty to sip and slide into the cedar wood fired hot tub. A dog-wash at your parking area deals with sandy or muddy paws. And EV charging makes long range exploring stress free.

You are surrounded by some of the finest Devon countryside and shoreline. Take a steam train along the coast between Dartmouth & Paignton. Explore inlets and river estuaries where gorgeous rolling countryside and woodland meet the coast. Enjoy tantalising glimpses out to see on a woodland walk. Experienced or beginner golfers can watch yachts and soak up 360 scenery as they play at Churston, Bigbury and Thurlestone Golf Clubs.
Children and adults are spoilt for choice of activities, on top of building sandcastles and peering into rock pools. Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Adventure Park and pony trekking with Dittiscombe Equestrian Centre are all nearby. Take to the water on a kayak or canoe with Dittisham Boat Hire or practise your balance with Discovery Surf School. Once you have built up an appetite, a delicious meal at The Red Lion or Ferry Boat Inn awaits – a wanderable distance home along the hedgerows.
