Little Menherion
Little Menherion
Choose from a log cabin, a roundhouse or a yurt at this enchanting Cornish hideaway.
Located on a twelve acre smallholding in the hamlet of Menherion in West Cornwall is Little Menherion. Formed of three gorgeous and unique glamping properties, each occupying their own little corner of Cornish heaven. With a commitment to sustainability, these eco-friendly properties live and breathe the ethos. Favouring renewable resources, with a history of upcycling, recycling and locally sourced materials. None of this detracts from the luxury on offer however, with each property being lovingly designed to perfection.
Exclusively for adults, Log Jam, Round n Round and Tylda Krow offer the opportunity to experience a ‘Wildcation’. Get back to nature, rejuvenate those senses and escape your everyday life. In doing so, you will rediscover the child in you, ensuring you head for home feeling utterly refreshed. There’s no Wi-Fi, instead all the nature you could ever want surrounds you. There’s even an onsite shop, The Wee Shop, with locally sourced Cornish goods and homegrown fruit and veg. Little Menherion is the perfect romantic getaway.
Inside
With the unique design of each property, the interiors may differ in shape and size, but they each have in common a meticulous attention to detail.
A log cabin, Log Jam, is the most traditional. Round n Round is formed of two interconnected roundhouses. And last but not least is Tylda Krow (tylda means ‘tent’ in Cornish while krow means ‘hut’). Consisting of a huge 6m Mongolian yurt with an adjacent BBQ hut, it’s glamping in its truest form. Each of the properties has a lounge area with a comfy leather sofa. Snuggle up in front of the wood burner and choose from the selection of books, games and activities. Perhaps with some soothing music playing from the DAB Radio in the background. The perfect evening before retiring to your comfortable king size bed. Locate your elevated bed behind the secret door in Log Jam. Or take the handcrafted spiral stairs to your mezzanine bedroom in Round n Round. And with picture windows, or skylights, nature is still close at hand even as you snooze.
Both Log Jam and Round n Round have well-equipped internal kitchens. Try your hand at cooking in the Dutch Oven, although there’s an induction hob to hand too. And to ensure those drinks keep chilled, there’s a fridge with an icebox. And to freshen up, each has an internal shower room, with plenty of hot water plus a composting loo.
Outside
The outside of your Little Menherion hideaway is just as important as the inside. The ‘krow’ of Tylda Krow is just a few steps from the main yurt and houses a wonderful surprise! As well as a lovely shower room with piping hot water and a composting loo. You also have your BBQ hut. With a well equipped kitchen space, with a fridge (with icebox) and an induction hob, the centre of the room belongs to the amazing BBQ grill. Surrounded by bench seating it allows you to enjoy barbecues whatever the weather.
Meanwhile, over at Log Jam and Round n Round, each has a firepit area to allow for an actually authentic barbecue! Their locations allows for easy access to the ‘wild jacuzzi’. With settings and thermostat exclusively monitored by Mother Nature, it is a wildly invigorating experience! Once you’ve warmed up, enjoy the terrace at Log Jam with the swing seat built for two. Or the armchairs on the veranda at Round n Round. And if you fancy the challenge of the double hammock, all three properties have their own.
