Medley Meadow Safari Tents
Medley Meadow Safari Tents
Bringing the wild African Savanna feel to the wonderful Monmouthshire area are these outstanding safari tents. Escape and unwind to the renowned Usk Valley where Medley Meadow awaits. A family run glamping and conservation site set in 9 acres of natural meadows and woodland. So, if you’re dreaming of longer days and beautiful evenings outdoors treat yourselves to an unusual and eco friendly staycation.
There are four unique safari tents at Medley Meadow called Cherry, Hazel, Willow and Apple. Built on timber decks with wooden interior walls covered with a canvas shell. Zip up the canvas for a cosy evening or open them up to allow nature to flow into the tent. Each safari tent sleeps up to six guests, making it perfect for a group getaway. This is also one of our pet friendly retreats meaning your four-legged friend doesn’t get left behind.
Inside the Safari Tents
Each safari tent has been simplistically yet cosily decorated. Sleeping arrangements are easily solved with two bedrooms, one double bedroom and one twin room, and a pull out sofa. Bedding is provided along with soft, woollen blankets to nestle down in after a busy day of exploring. In the bathroom there is a spacious hot shower, a flushing toilet (yay to glamping) and a modern basin with handmade copper taps.
In the open plan living area guests will find a kitchenette with all the essentials to cook up a feast, a drop leaf dining table to fit in all the family and a comfy sofa to read your book on. Each safari tent has a stock of maps, books and leaflets to help you explore the area and plan your days out.
Outside
Medley Meadows have created a spacious decking and private outdoor area for each safari tent. Perfect to sit out and relax or cook up some mouth-watering food on the barbecue. In the evenings, snuggle down and star gaze next to a warming fire pit. Marshmallows and hot chocolates advisable. Just outside your safari tent, enjoy wandering through the 9 acres of restored meadows. And why not take some food with you and have a picnic underneath the oak tree?
Nearby
You will probably enjoy your stay at the safari tent too much to go out, however there are amenities close by. Just 15 minutes away in the car brings you to various eateries such as The Foxhunter Inn, Chef Stephen Terry’s Hardwick Pub and even Michelin starred The Walnut Tree.
For the adventurists among us the Brecon Beacons National Park is a short drive away. Or for a family day out you could visit ‘the grandest castle built by a Welshmen’ Raglan Castle, or Clytha Park & Castle and Raglan Farm Park. Approximately half an hour away is Symonds Yat Rock which is perfect for climbers and bird watchers as it’s one of the best places to watch Peregrine Falcons.
