Housing eight guests in four bedrooms, there’s also plenty of space for an infant in a travel cot. Seamlessly blending characterful period features with modern design, Ocean Queens Cottage is incredibly stylish. Laid across three floors, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen diner on the ground floor. With everything you could need for a self-catering break, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The cosy yet spacious living room is gorgeous. With bold blue and yellow accents, it’s a cheerful space to unwind. Get comfy on the sofa whilst tv addicts will be glued to the Smart TV. On the first and second floors are two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom. With a full-size bath with an overhead shower and loo, plus you can find a separate WC on the first floor. Always a good idea to have more than one loo!

A beach lover’s paradise, the beach is practically your back garden! And for those visiting with their dogs, there is a dog friendly beach just a five-minute walk away. The amenities of Filey, including shops, bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance of Ocean Queens Cottage. As is Filey Train Station, if you’re travelling by train, enabling you to park up, or even leave the car at home.

If you can drag yourself away from ultimate sandcastle building competitions, there’s tons to do locally! Explore the Yorkshire Coast, starting with neighbouring Scarborough. With amazing panoramic views, the English Heritage managed Scarborough Castle offers a great day out. If your interests are more marine inspired, the Sea Life Centre is perfect for all the family – weatherproof too! Further afield are Bridlington, with Sewerby Hall offering a lovely day out. While Robin Hood’s Bay is wonderfully scenic, and Whitby is a must visit for fans of the gothic tale, Dracula. Keen birdwatchers will be fascinated by the bird life at Flamborough Head, around thirty minutes away. And if you’re keen to trade in the sand for something a little leafier, try some mountain biking in Dalby Forest, forty minutes away. And ever so slightly further out is the well-known Flamingo Land, with its mix of animals and rides for thrill seekers, it’s a brilliant, fun day out.
