Pinwheel Treehouse
Pinwheel Treehouse
Treehouses don’t come much more impressive than this. Designed to a bespoke specification, you can be assured of a unique experience. Pack only what you need, switch off and immerse yourself in peace and tranquillity.
Prepare for an experience like no other. Nestled into a secluded corner of a bluebell wood sits Pinwheel Treehouse. Modern and breathtakingly elegant, it sits within a clearing of mature oak trees. The one-way glass reflects the gorgeous greenery so that it both blends and contrasts all at once. Steeped in nature, it inspires reflection, rejuvenating the mind. Enjoy your accommodation to the max by simply staying in and taking advantage of all it has to offer. Or enjoy the wider area of West Dorset and beyond. Outdoor adventures, heritage discoveries or a day by the sea. Whatever you choose to do, leave refreshed and longing to return.
Mallison’s Woodland Retreats were delighted that Pinwheel Treehouse was awarded a RIBA South West award in May 2023 – a highly prestigious award in the Design and Architectural world.
Inside
When you climb the steps and enter, the first thing you’ll notice is the quirky layout. Inspired by the shape of a child’s pinwheel, the lounge area serves as the centre. This glass topped living space comes complete with a sumptuous sofa and woodburning stove. It’s the ideal place to cosy up together if the weather is being a little too British. A natural palette is used throughout, staying faithful to the outside. Clean lines, natural light and a minimalistic style maximise the feeling of space. Full length, one-way glass at each compass point ensures stunning views without compromising your privacy. Create tasty treats in the fully equipped kitchen, which includes a Nespresso coffee machine. Perfect for lazy mornings in the king-sized bed. And there’s no trudging to find the facilities, with a separate flushing loo and a stylish shower room including a dressing room.
Outside
Your private deck awaits, and what a sight it is! As much a part of the living space as the inside, it’s designed to please. Light up the firepit and enjoy the warmth of the flickering flames as you toast one another across the dining table. Try your hand at pizza making in the wood fired pizza oven. Or toss a couple of steaks on the BBQ grill. Return to childhood as you swing carefree side by side on the deck swing. And later, make sure the champagne is chilled and ready for a long soak in the stylish hot tub.
Nearby
Located in a quiet wood clearing in West Dorset, the wider county and beyond offer plenty to do if you’re feeling particularly active! The estate of the medieval monastery, Forde Abbey borders the woods. With beautiful gardens and a tearoom, it’s well worth a visit. If you’re a fan of vodka – the Black Cow distillery tours are a must! Stocked by The Savoy, Nobu and Soho House amongst others, this wholly milk-based spirit is a local gem. For something a little different, take the ten mile drive to Charmouth and experience fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast. In the evening, check out the events at the Electric Palace. Or simply head out for a meal at the many pubs and restaurants in the area, including the famous River Cottage. Owned by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, it’s just five miles from the treehouse.
