The Cabin by the Castle
The Cabin by the Castle
Situated in the majestic shadow of medieval Duffus Castle. This gorgeous eco-cabin brings a sustainable vision to this historic Scottish estate.
With direct ancestral links dating back to the late 1600s, the Duffus Estate is well-loved by the Dunbar family. With beautiful ambitions to plant up an extensive 27 acres with orchards, wild flowers as well as reintroduce a natural wetland area, the Estate is a haven for wildlife, including the resident red squirrels. This is a very special corner of Scotland. With fourteen acres of woodland and numerous trails to explore from the doorstep, it’s a chance to reconnect with nature. Animal lovers in particular will adore spotting the many furry and feathered inhabitants. This is a remote, wonderous place to slow your pace of life and truly live in the moment. Pack up your favourite loved one, not forgetting the pooch and practise the ultimate in self-care. Slow down, take time to reflect, catch your breath and enjoy.
Inside
Those breath-taking views are maximised with an expanse of glazing framing the castle itself. Settle together on the cosy corner sofa in the living room, ideal for late night cuddles! Designed with the Scottish Hygge (‘coorie’) in mind, The Cabin by the Castle is styled with a neutral palette accented with dashes of blue. Reminiscent of the sea and sky, it offers the perfect, tranquil space in which to declutter the mind.
This solar-panelled cabin has one bedroom, ideally suited to couples looking for a romantic getaway. Sink into the king-sized bed and luxuriate with long lie-ins beneath the sumptuous Ava Innes cashmere duvet. A fresh, modern shower room plus a fully equipped kitchen, all ready to whip up a romantic feast for two. Choose to escape modernity entirely and turn off your screens. Or embrace it. Snuggle up in front of the Smart TV, with the added benefit of Wi-Fi. Either way, enjoy quality time away from your everyday lives.
Outside the Cabin
After a long day exploring the woodland trails on the estate, grab a glass and step out of those glorious glass doors. With a private south-facing garden, you can take full advantage of any sunshine Scotland wishes to provide! The Cabin by the Castle has decking to the front, with seating options, as well as a hammock to relax in. If the weather is fine, fire up the Weber BBQ for an al fresco treat. And make sure to take advantage of your front row seat as the sunlight glints spectacularly across the castle at both sunrise and sunset. And if the evening turns chilly? Strike up the fire bowl and sidle up close and warm yourselves by the flickering flames.
