The Paddocks Pods are made up of three luxurious, hand crafted glamping pods – Thorn (dog friendly), Bramble, Twig and The Orchard Shepherds Hut (dog friendly). Situated in Selside, just 4 miles away from Kendal famously known for caving and potholing!  The Paddocks Pods are perfectly positioned on the family’s farmland to offer guests privacy, seclusion with undisturbed views. They are also wonderfully situated for outdoorsy activities, so make sure you pack those hiking boots and plan your ramble across the picturesque Lake District National Park.

Inside

The luxury pods and shepherds hut are sympathetically and tastefully decorated to its surroundings with a nature inspired palette and autumnal tones to accent.

Deceptively spacious, the pods and shepherds hut welcome you to an open-plan living space where there is a sofa bed, dining table with seating and Smart TV. The sleek and stylish kitchenette area is well equipped, including an electric hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, with all utensils required to rustle up a simple and wholesome meal after a busy day exploring. The sleeping area comprises a double bed with an ensuite with modern and minimalist black fittings. Two of the pods and the Shepherds Hut have underfloor heating, so whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring – be assured you will feel all snuggly warm and just at home.

Outside

Ease yourself gently into the day as you sip your morning brew upon the outdoor seating. Or by night you can snuggle beside the firepit to toast marshmallows. Perhaps add the BBQ swing arm over the firepit to cook some sausages for a quick and easy tea! We can’t emphasise enough that the views from The Paddocks Pods is a treat for the eyes, so kick back, relax and soak it all up. There is allocated parking for you during your stay adjacent to the pods, with additional visitor parking available if needed.

If you need to hose down the bike and wash your kit after a muddy exploration, there is a brilliant and well thought out shared utility room with access to a washer and dryer.

Nearby

Although your stay at The Paddocks Pods may be filled with exploring the Lake District National Park. There is so much to see locally, and a little further afield! Head to Kendal to have a go at wall climbing at KendalWall Climbing Centre (10 minutes). And whilst you’re in the area, you could go onto walking the Kendal Castle Trail, a chance to delve into the history of the mediaeval fort. Whilst Lake Windermere offers a host of water activities, why not head to The World of Beatrix Potter (28 minutes) and channel your inner child’s imagination, and a perfect place to visit if you do have little ones. Venturing further afield, is Hornister Slate Mine where there is a host of activities to enjoy including climbing the mines, slate tours and much more!
