Offering guests the experience of the great outdoors but from the comfort of a quirky geodome, Woodland Escapes Domes offers families or couples a tantalising stay near Ludlow, one of the prettiest towns of England. Despite being an eco-friendly retreat, these gorgeous geodomes are bursting with luxurious touches and glorious countryside views, firmly putting the glam into glamping.
Whether you toast marshmallows and sip hot chocolate around the fire pit, stargaze from the comfort of your bed or venture into the surrounding areas, a stay at Woodland Escapes Domes will leave you feeling totally relaxed and totally satisfied. There are two geodomes to choose from; The Tree Dome which sleeps two and The Star Dome which can sleep up to four. Four legged friends are also welcome to bring their owners here!
Inside
The gorgeous Tree Dome is hidden away on a raised platform under a canopy of trees and has been expertly designed to accommodate two. The four-poster king-size bed takes centre stage here – adorned with plush cushions, fluffy pillows, a thick duvet and soft bedding. To make things extra cosy, light up the wood burner before bedtime and drift off to sleep to the sweet lullaby of the crackling fire.
Containing everything you would find in a boutique style hotel, The Star Dome is better suited for small families and/or couples. This quirky space has a sublime king-size bed and two comfy fold down beds for the smaller guests. Enjoy looking out through the stargazing window as you have your first cup of tea and enjoy some quality family meal times around the wooden dining table. In the chillier months, make things extra toasty by lighting the log burner and sink into a comfy tub chair.
Both Woodland Escapes Domes have external and practical kitchenettes as well as stylish bathrooms with steaming hot showers, flushing loos and wash basins.
Outside
An array of outdoor facilities outside each of the Domes encourage you to make the most of your fabulous location and enjoy being in the great outdoors. To make things extra special, the Scandinavian wood fired hot tub is a welcoming addition (available for an extra charge). For those who love cooking al fresco style, the Tree Dome also has an authentic wood fired pizza oven where you can cook up some epic treats. Pizzas have never tasted so good!
Nearby
The geodomes are located on Woodland Escapes 45 acre retreat in Shropshire. There are an abundance of walks to discover on the estates grounds and plenty of things to do and places to see nearby. We can’t promise you’ll want to leave your cosy domes though.
Ludlow, situated on the edge of the Shropshire Hills AONB, is the nearest town to Woodland Escapes Domes. Famously described as ‘the loveliest town in England’ by poet Sir John Betjeman, this town is a must see! Regular events are held throughout the year including the Ludlow Food Festival, Ludlow Races, Ludlow Mediaeval Christmas Fayre and much much more. Step back in history in the ruined mediaeval Ludlow Castle. Climb up the tallest tower to see some stunning views of Shropshire. After working up an appetite, a visit to The Old Bakehouse or Bistro 7 will satisfy your needs.
Mortimer Forest is a mile away from Ludlow and lovers of woodland walks and exciting cycle trails will love a visit here! Stunning views can be expected from Clee Hill Summit, an excellent place to have a picnic. Just half an hour’s car journey away is the stunning National Trust Carding Mill Valley. A variety of walks of varying difficulty are on offer here, as well as a popular coffee shop.
