Oh we do like to be beside the seaside! Yes we do like to be by the sea. Especially when we can take our four-legged friends with us! If you are currently planning a coastal holiday in the UK and can’t bear to leave your best friend behind, look no further. Read on for some of the best dog friendly beaches and pet friendly accommodation nearby.
Our wonderful island is home to some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world and deserves to be recognised for it. We can’t always guarantee that the weather will be on our side but we can’t let the rain ruin our fun. Remember, take home only memories and leave only paw prints!
Saundersfoot Beach
Undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Wales. A golden sandy beach with shallow waters awaits your arrival. Ideal for your dog’s first trip to the beach and to get used to the water. For the humans, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and independent shops to enjoy.

We couldn’t leave out the amazing Brighton Beach now, could we! This well loved beach is one of the most popular spots in the UK and you can see why. Take a stroll along the promenade, sample some delicious ice creams (maybe a puppuccino for the pooch) and even try your luck at some fair games!

Ardalanish Beach
If you are one for explore, head to the Isle of Mull where you will discover Ardalanish Beach, a white sandy beach which on a sunny day you could be mistaken for Barbados! It has a small carpark but the beach is accessed by foot only. This is the perfect restful spot for a calming walk with you little fury friend.

Cresswell beach
Maybe a less well known beach yet equally beautiful. A peaceful beach where you and your dog can enjoy running along the long sandy coastline and soaking up some fresh sea air. Cresswell beach also marks the start of the Northumberland Coastal Path!

Bournemouth Beach
Bournemouth itself has five spectacular Blue Flag beaches to choose from; Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman’s Walk, Manor Steps and Southbourne. There are designated dog friendly sections that you can both enjoy, please check before you plan to visit what sections you are allowed on. There is also a wide array of sights to see and restaurants to try during your visit to Bournemouth.

Summerleaze Beach
Located within easy reach of the popular town of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is well worth a visit during your stay in Cornwall. A wonderful beach for the lovers of outdoor pursuits, including surfing and sea kayaking. Aberdovey
Aberdovey is a wonderfully quaint harbour town in Wales, the beach is perfectly placed to the front of the town’s high street where you can enjoy a chippy lunch overlooking the shore. The beach to the front of the carpark is accessible to dogs out of season (October to April) however, dogs are welcome to all year round from the dunes with a 4 mile stretch to enjoy.
Cleverly nestled into the hillside is The Willow Hill. Enjoying far reaching views of the River Dyfi estuary. Sleeping up to 4 these are great choice to stay with families or friends alike with wonderful walks accessible from The Willow Hill.
