Tiny Home Borders
Are you looking for a remote and tranquil spot to escape to? Look no further….
Located on the southern slopes of Ruberslaw in Southern Scotland is Tiny Home Borders. An entirely unique glamping experience which uses an old bale trailer as its base and is inspired by Nordic design. This is an off grid hillside retreat with an eco-conscience – and it is absolutely gorgeous. With an idyllic location presiding over the Border Hills and your very own private lochan. Paddle boards are provided, and so head out together on the water, or dive in for a wild swim. Then dry off on the jetty with a drink to warm you through.
Great effort has been made to ensure that the perfect balance between sustainability and comfort has been achieved. It is solar powered, coming with 240v sockets, as well as plentiful indoor and outdoor lighting. Mobile signal is not guaranteed, and Wi-Fi is not provided, making this a true digital detox. Escape from the stresses of everyday life and enjoy living simply.
Inside
Tiny Home Borders is just that, a tiny home. But it proves that size definitely does not matter, because this tiny home is quite simply epic. Walking in through the glazed double doors, the space is cleverly compact. Surrounding the wood burning stove is the cushioned corner seating area. Cuddle up with the soft pillows and cosy throws as you bask in the warmth of the flickering flames. The kitchen area is incredibly well equipped, with a full gas cooker, hob and fridge. Get the kettle boiling on the gas as you explore the bedroom. Directly above the living area and accessed via steps, it is a quirky space. Probably not one for those who don’t like small spaces due to the low ceiling height! You also have your own ensuite shower room. Although hot water is limited so for a long soak you may want to check what’s outside….
Outside
Your private deck forms an L shape around two lengths of Tiny Home Borders. The front deck is for outdoor living. Recently covered with a glass canopy, ensuring you can use the deck come rain or shine. It is here you will find your loungers. Curl up with a good book, a cup of tea and a soft blanket. Experiment with al fresco cooking with the aid of Greta, the Swedish outdoor cooker. Incorporating both a BBQ and a pizza oven, your taste buds are well taken care of. And for that long soak? Slip into the Swedish wood fired bathtub, perfect for two!
