If you’re looking for a traditional log cabin with a hot tub in the heart of Wales, look no further. Dwr Y Felin means The Mill Water, and these three delightful cabins sit in an idyllic spot near to the stream that used to supply the water to power the family’s Mill wheel. Each of the handmade log cabins sleeps up to four with a choice of three bedrooms. If there are fewer than four of you, the price is reduced. With plenty of charm inside and out, each is surrounded by peaceful working farmland and livestock. With an emphasis on tranquility, this is the place to soak in the harmony of nature, spend lazy days in the heat of the hot tub, and restore your vitality.

Inside

Built in a traditional Estonian style and kitted out with sustainable technology including underfloor heating – these cabins are cosy! Perfect for a romantic log cabin break for two, or a family lodge break for four complete with a hot tub. Dwr Y Felin Cabins tick all the boxes.

The chunky log walls and gorgeous smell of timber will carry you away from it all instantly. Settle into your holiday hideout where all the little extras have been thought about. A tea tray with welsh cakes, tea and coffee welcomes you. Nestle into the sofa in the open plan living area with TV and electric stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need including a dishwasher – bound to be welcome after a family feast or indulgent barbecue. Each log cabin has three bedrooms and three shower rooms (two are en-suite). Two are king size and one twin, all complete with linen.

Outside

At the front of your cabin you have a covered balcony under the apex with a comfy double person egg chair complete with soft blankets to snuggle under. This is the perfect place for enjoying your morning coffee and listening to bird song, whilst admiring those unrivaled countryside views. Below, your private veranda and decking is home to your hot tub. Spark up your barbecue and pop open something tasty to sip in the hot tub bubbles. Al fresco dinner surrounded by views of the hillsides will become the norm!

Take a wander down to the “Lover’s Lake”  for some tranquil reflections as the clouds float by. Slow to the wholesome pace of the wilderness and let your senses take over. Dip a toe in from the jetty and tune into the soft sounds of nature.

Nearby

Spectacular scenery surrounds you in every direction. It’s difficult to narrow down the following selection! Walkers and cyclists can choose from hitting the trails with Bwlch Nant Yr Arian & Coed y Brenin walking and cycle centres nearby. Not to mention the famous Glyndwr’s Way, the Trans Cambrian Way or Cadair Idris Mountain for an epic challenge.

For adventures on horseback try the Bwlchgwyn Farm Trekking Centre, or for an adrenaline rush behind the wheel just down the road there’s Forest Experience Rally Driving Course where you can be taught by the pros on gravel tracks around 900 acres of forest. There’s Clywedog Trout Fishing on the reservoir or for angling on the river severn see Caersws Angling Association.

Many sandy beaches and seaside towns are less than one hour by car, such as Aberystwyth, Aberdyfi and Borth, and extensive sand dunes at Ynyslas. Nearby towns provide an array of restaurants and tea rooms such as: The Aleppo at Carno, The Unicorn at Caersws and Arthur’s at Trefeglwys.
