The Forge at Glanmedeni is rural, remote and the perfect place to reconnect with nature. Oftentimes, everyday life gets in the way and a stay at The Forge offers the opportunity to spend quality time together. The wider site even offers workshops and sessions to encourage mindfulness and self-care. Located just over a ten minute drive away from the charming and historic town of Newcastle Emlyn. Straddling the counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire in West Wales, The Forge is in the heart of the West Welsh countryside.
Recently and lovingly renovated, the accommodation blends character with modern convenience. Coming with a super king sized bed (or two singles), it is ideal for a romantic break for two. And fur babies are invited along too, with up to two well-behaved dogs welcome at no extra charge. And although it’s in a remote location, it’s not completely unconnected. Offering a gate leg desk for those who need to work, along with good internet speeds. It is also a great refuge if you’re looking for inspiration in your work.
Held in the grounds of Glanmedeni you can book onto a Women’s Woodwork Workshop where no previous experience is required but booking ahead of your stay is a must!
Inside
Decorated with a soothing palette, The Forge is one classy cottage. The lounge area has a squishy sofa and a swivel armchair that begs to be read in. The impressive inglenook fireplace holds a woodburning stove, guaranteeing a cosy, romantic ambience. Sit and chat or snuggle up and enjoy a film on the Smart TV. It is in this space you’ll also find the dining table and chairs. To the rear, you’ll find both the bathroom and the kitchen. Fully fitted, the kitchen has all the mod cons an aspiring chef may need. Halogen hob, oven, fridge freezer, microwave and a dishwasher as well as quality Denby kitchenware. A bonus for caffeine fiends, the highlight of your morning will be a steaming cup from the Lavazza coffee machine. Meanwhile, the bathroom has a large walk in shower as well as a wooden Japanese style dipping tub. And when it’s time for bed, take the ornate spiral staircase to your mezzanine nest. Pull back the dreamy white voile curtains to reveal a sumptuous super king sized bed.
Outside
Take the French doors to access the private wooden deck of The Forge. Elevated, it offers the perfect vantage point from which to spot the local wildlife, or perhaps check out the night sky. Lit with atmospheric lighting, it’s the place you are likely to lose sense of time as you sit with a bottle of fizz and chat into the small hours. Marvel at the views extending across the private enclosed garden, to the beautiful countryside beyond. And you must explore the extensive grounds. Sample a woodland walk or take a mindful moment in the living willow dome by the stream. The garden is securely enclosed for your four-legged friends to run with complete peace of mind and there is an off-lead exercise area just a short walk away.

The Forge occupies its own little haven of peace and tranquillity. But you may wish to see what lies in the surrounding area. Take a Women’s Woodwork Workshop on the grounds of Glanmedeni where you can create something wonderful, with no previous experience required! Within around thirty minutes or less, there is plenty to see and do. If you enjoy nature and walks, there are lots of beauty spots to explore. Ffynone Woods and Waterfall and Ty Canol National Nature Reserve are highly recommended. Head to the beach at Aberporth or Penbryn Beach, which is looked after by the National Trust. Or take a challenge and discover the ‘secret’ beach at Traeth Bach. If you like to know about the heritage of a place, try Cardigan Castle and the burial ground at Pentre Ifan. While animal lovers will enjoy a day out at the Welsh Wildlife Centre.
