Hidden Retreat Glamping
Hidden Retreat Glamping
Enjoy boutique hotel level luxury all while embracing outdoor living.
Skirting the outer edges of the beautiful village on Shotley Grove in County Durham is Hidden Retreat Glamping. Boasting a waterside location by the River Derwent, these two pods are filled with home from home comforts. Perfectly sited to allow natural light to flood through the glazed frontage, they feel airy and spacious.
Both named for local historical figures, Annandale and Oley, they are individual in style and layout, whilst offering the same great facilities. Each sleeps up to four people in one double bedroom, with an additional double sofa bed. Ideal for families, friends or for a couple seeking a peaceful and romantic break.
Well located for reaching a number of well-known attractions and locations too. It offers the opportunity to experience a peaceful haven by night and while enjoying a fun filled adventure by day.
Inside
Hidden Retreat Glamping is all about those extra special touches which add a little sparkle to your glamping adventure. And this really shines through in the interiors. Featuring soft grey walls and recessed spotlights, they feel fresh and uncluttered. Each pod has its own style. With Annandale being more country chic, with its cottage style textiles and natural wood furnishings. While Oley feels more contemporary, with a plush blue sofa and mustard accents. Each has a lounge area with a television and indoor dining furniture. Alongside a well equipped kitchen space coming with a microwave, cooker, hob and fridge. And the private double bedroom and stylish ensuite shower room complete the space.
Outside
As glorious as the inside of your pod is, Hidden Retreat Glamping offers a gorgeous outside space too. A private patio space comes complete with comfortable outdoor furniture. Grill those burgers on the barbecue and dine beneath the open sky. The relaxation process is not complete without a leisurely soak in the four person deluxe hot tub. Undercover so as not to dilute those flutes of fizz if it pours but allowing you to look outwards at your beautiful surroundings. Finish off your evening around the heat of the firepit. Toast marshmallows and simply enjoy the freedom of outdoor living.
Nearby
One of the best things about Hidden Retreat Glamping is its amazing location. It occupies a gorgeous rural location, all the while being within easy reach of many attractions and points of interest. Enjoy walks around the Derwent Reservoir (fifteen minutes). Or pay a visit to Beamish, a sprawling outdoor museum focusing on bygone days, just twenty minutes away. Explore Durham, including Durham Cathedral in less than a half hour drive. And shop until you drop at Gateshead Metro Centre (twenty five minutes).
