Forming part of a small, exclusive development of eco cabins, is The Cabin at Coppertop Wood. Set within its own section of private woodland, it offers an absolutely stunning setting for your family break. Located close to Matlock and neighbouring Matlock Bath in Derbyshire. It is within easy reach of a number of local attractions and places of interest. Although you may very well be tempted to kick back, relax and stay put!

Set across two floors, this timber framed lodge sleeps up to six people over three bedrooms. Offering home from home amenities, it’s a cosy space for a family gathering. And that it’s respectful to the environment is the icing on the cake. The owners maintain an ethos of protecting the local wildlife and creating a space for thriving. Caretaking the land with advice from Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, The Cabin blends seamlessly with its surroundings. With an aim to have a minimal impact, it has a water recycling system and underfloor heating powered by an air force heat pump. Plus, it’s super insulated to keep all that cosiness in.

Inside

Bright and light, the interior of The Cabin at Coppertop Wood is both warm and welcoming. The open plan downstairs area is perfect for socialising as a family. The kitchen is stylish and functional. With a retro fridge freezer, a Rangemaster stove, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine, it’s exceptionally well-equipped. Dive into the fruits of your labour at the dining table. While the lounge area has comfy sofas to settle into after an action packed day. And with a Smart TV, what could be better than relaxing with a good film. Head up the gorgeous feature spiral staircase to bed. Here you’ll find three bedrooms. The master suite, with its ensuite and bifold doors onto the balcony. And a second king size room, which shares a Jack and Jill bathroom with the bunk room.

Outside

Throw open those bifold doors and step out onto your covered veranda deck. Put the rocking chairs to good use and devour a good book. Or simply lull yourself into a daydream as you look across to your woodland view. If you’re lucky enough with the weather, you’ll enjoy the outdoor sofa set long into the night. And of course, you will need to get that fire lit to get the wood fired hot tub to the perfect temperature. Unfurl those muscles in the warm water. Or if you prefer to stay dry? Take a pew on the handmade benches, light the firepit and toast marshmallows to tasty perfection!

The Cabin at Coppertop Wood is brilliantly located for exciting family days out. Just a few minutes’ drive away, take a vintage tram ride at Crich Tramway Village. And the Heights of Abraham with its cable cars is a must. And once you’ve ‘flown’ to the top, there are some brilliant playgrounds, caverns and woodland trails to explore. Animal lovers will adore a day out at Matlock Farm Park. While fun seekers will enjoy the thrills at Gulliver’s Kingdom. For those who enjoy history and heritage there are several stately homes reachable in around thirty minutes. The jewel of Derbyshire is Chatsworth House. But with Haddon Hall and National Trust owned Hardwick Hall, you’re spoiled for choice!
