Defender Camping
Defender Camping
A concept born from passion and adventure seeking lead to the creation of Defender Camping. A totally unique, bespoke and quirky way to explore some of the best parts of the UK. Whether you’re planning a weekend mini break on the Yorkshire Moors or a seven night stay in the scenic Lake District, Defender Camping gives you the flexibility to release your inner adventurer. Choose from four legendary Land Rovers lovingly named Bruce, Sheila, Milly & Sidney, all based in Yorkshire. Owners Tom & Sophie can meet guests travelling by train. The Defenders are all kitted out with waterproof roof top tents and camping gear.
Picture this, cruising in an iconic Land Rover past beautiful lakes, rugged landscapes and gloriously dense woodlands. You’ve reached your destination for the night, pop up the roof tent, light the campfire and enjoy being at one in the great outdoors.
Inside
With a stylish fleet to choose from, the only difficult choice you’ll need to make is which Land Rover you’d like! For those with four legged friends, there’s no need for your best friend to be left behind as Sidney, Sheila and Bruce are all dog friendly. Owners Tom & Sophie will be there to tailor your experience so that it best suits your requirements, you’ll then be set free on your travels.
The Defenders are all kitted out with high-spec equipment you’d need for a glamping staycation. Everything you require to cook up some simple meals is provided including a portable BBQ with grill, knives, mess tins, brew kit, portable kettle…Even the smaller details have been thought of including a pack of cards, power banks for charging devices and hot water bottles to make your experience even more special.
Battling with tent poles is history, the roof tent is easily set up and ready to go in no time. Can you beat the record of setting it up in under one minute? The hardy tents will protect you from the wind, rain and cold. They’re also equipped with a super comfy memory foam mattress. All you have to do is bring your comfy duvet or sleeping bag. There’s plenty of storage inside the tent, and in the Land Rover itself, allowing you to keep nice and organised during your travels. For those travelling as a family, a traditional ground tent can be provided instead.
Outside
All of the iconic Defenders have easily assembled side awnings to create an outdoor sheltered seating area. Create a cosy evening by lighting up a campfire and cook up some mouth watering meals alfresco style or simply make yourself some tasty s’mores. Perhaps even rustle up a delicious pizza on the camping pizza oven. Whatever you do, enjoy a glass of bubbles, gaze up at the stars and enjoy an evening of laughter and conversation.
