Hideout @ Sleepy Owl
Hideout @ Sleepy Owl
We’re not sure that there is anywhere else we’d rather ‘Hideout’….
If you’re looking for stunning treehouse luxury with hot tub. Stop scrolling. Hideout at Sleepy Owl is a retreat like no other. Nestled in among the trees within twenty acres of the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere Reserve. Hideout is just one of three stunning accommodations available. For families looking for a fun filled break or couples in need of a romantic break, it is perfection. This sumptuous treehouse can sleep up to four people (a maximum of two adults plus two children). And up to two well behaved furry family members are welcome to come along too. There is too much fun to be had to consider leaving them behind! Plus, there is no need to choose coast or countryside, as Hideout has both. Whether you fancy exploring the North Devon coastline. Or enjoying long walks in the stunning Hartland Peninsula AONB. You’ll be spoiled for choice.
If you are celebrating big birthdays and anniversaries, then you found the right place. With celebration neon signs, candles, cakes, bubbles we can take care of all the extra details to make your stay the one to remember.
Inside
With decor to rival a designer’s eye, Hideout is a beauty. Rustic wood adorns the space, with the dark beams adding drama and height. The open plan living space is the beating heart. A cosy sofa ideal for relaxing after an activity laden day. And the wood fired stove lends the perfect ambience to a romantic night in with cinema projector. The kitchen has all you need for brunches and romantic dinners, and the Nespresso machine will be a highlight for those who need a caffeine fix to kick start their day. With a fabulous bathroom with facilities that’ll make you feel you’ve had a spa day. Bedroom wise, there’s a super cute bunk room for up to two children. And the super king sized four poster master suite is designed to impress. The most impressive element is the stunning copper bath. And this is not just any bath, this bath offers a choice – and this bath moves! Bathe indoors and catch up with Netflix series or throw open those bifold doors and bathe on the terrace beneath both the stars and a rather cool outdoor shower.
Outside
Go wild on site and explore the meadows, discover the woods and trail your toes in the river. Back at the treehouse relax on your private terrace. And enjoy meals cooked outdoors on either the barbecue, or the wood fired pizza oven. Make use of the treehouse binoculars and spot the local wildlife. Or lose yourself in the starry night sky with the help of the telescope. Whatever you choose to do with your day, just few steps away you’ll find your wood fired hot tub. End your day on the most relaxing of notes, your favourite tipple and warm, soothing waters swirling around those stressed muscles.
Nearby
If you fancy parking up the car and enjoying a slower pace of life, you’re in luck. Hideout is situated just a ten minute walk from the village of Hartland, with two corner shops, three pubs, a pottery and a cafe. Hartland Abbey and Gardens is also walkable in fifteen minutes and is a lovely day out. Families may be tempted to hop in the car and be at The Big Sheep in around twenty minutes. Lots of farm based family fun is promised, including a spot of sheep racing. No trip to North Devon would be complete without a trip to Clovelly, just fifteen minutes away. A traditional fishing village, its cobbled streets feel to transport you to a bygone age. Just remember to wear sensible shoes! There’s plenty of coastline and seaside locations to explore, including our favourite Bude, but a trip to Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is worth a visit. Reachable in just over an hour, scale the 862 foot cliff in water-powered carriages, a feat of Victorian engineering.
