Inside Nant Awen Cottages
Deceptively spacious and offering ambient open-plan living throughout, Y Capel has a well-equipped kitchen, generous wet room with contemporary shower. Not forgetting THAT beautiful copper bath handsomely handmade in Morocco. An array of solid oak features give the cottage an earthen appeal, whilst the luxurious log burner stands as a true testament to Welsh craftsmanship. Y Stabl is the perfect place for stocking up and hiding away, with abundant features and facilities that make staying in irresistible. A Laura Ashley log burner keeps things cosy in the cooler months, while a spacious bathroom houses a wonderful walk-in shower.
Outside
Both of Nant Awen Cottages have their own private outdoor areas. A petite cottage garden in Y Capel invites you to walk amongst the wildflowers and experience the bubbling bliss of the private hot tub, as well as enjoy some al fresco dining during your stay thanks to the outdoor seats and table. Step outside Y Stabl through your patio doors to enjoy a charming area alive with colourful planters and beautiful wood cladding. It won’t be long after your arrival that you find an excuse to crack open the welcome bubbles and take a delightful dip in the private hot tub (which also happens to be a sublime sun trap, by the way.)

A rural, rugged area previously used as a filming location to create the height of drama, Y Capel is located in the heart of Mid Wales, where adventure beckons you out into undulating unknown to discover wild waterfalls, handsome heritage sites and moody mountains.
The nearest village is that of Carno, a delightful community featuring a choice of traditional pubs and a Spar shop allowing you to stock up on the essentials.
For adventures further afield, Powis Castle and its gorgeous gardens are nearby. Powis Castle has various events on during the year as well as a popular tea room. During your stay at Nant Awen cottages we definitely recommend a visit to Elan Valley. A collection of six dams well worth exploring. The popular market town of Welshpool is just a short drive away. Welshpool’s main streets are lined with beautiful Georgian building and independent shops. From April to October you can also ride the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, a must see for train enthusiasts. There is also the Montgomery Canal running on the outskirts of Welshpool, this 33 mile long 18th century canal is home to a wide range of wild life. There are a couple of short and long trails that you can do to fully explore the canal.
If you’re celebrating something special during your stay, or simply wish to be wined and dined, you could head to the coast to sample mesmerising Michelin-starred meats at Ynyshir near Machynlleth, or instead keep it local with a trip to The Granary in Newtown.
