Perfectly placed near the charming villages of Dorstone and Bredwardine, the barn is ideally situated for exploring the Wye Valley AONB, as well as the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Inside

Fully-equipped with a charming country kitchen and three bedrooms, Upper Barn is an ideal choice for those looking to ‘hole up’ and cater for themselves, between wonderful walks and active adventures. The accommodation boasts a spacious oak floored dining area with views east and west to gaze at while eating, leading to the carpeted lounge with wood burning stove for those snuggly evenings, watching TV or just soaking up the peace and quiet. Many original features such as inspiring oak beams and stone walls can be admired throughout.

Downstairs also has a shower room with WC, and the utility room housing the washing machine and tumble drier, next to the entrance hall with plenty of room for country apparel. Upstairs is the bathroom with free standing bath, basin and toilet.

Outside

This picturesque barn conversion is all about the views. From every angle you can enjoy perfect panoramas of stunning scenery (in our opinion this is best done from the bubbling hot tub with something refreshing in hand). There is ample private and secure parking just outside Upper Barn. The two spacious patio areas with built in barbeque and outdoor dining furniture offer al fresco dining opportunities. After a busy day exploring the local countryside and popular towns, relax and unwind in the luxurious Hot tub.

Nearby

Situated in the ‘Golden Valley’ area of Herefordshire, this beautiful barn is an ideal spot for keen walkers and adventurers. You’ll benefit from having the Brecon Beacons National Park right on your doorstep, as well as the enchanting bookshop town of Hay-on-Wye. This charming town hosts a variety of annual festival including The Hay Festival of Literature and Arts. For the water babies amongst us, the nearby town of Hay and Glastonbury have a couple of businesses where you can rent canoes from.

The local village of Dorstone is within walking distance and offers a thriving community with a characterful country pub and an annual sloe gin competition where each yearly winner is crowned ‘Grand Master of the Sloes’.

Also, practically on the doorstep, is the unmissable ancient attraction of Arthur’s Stone, thought to be a burial tomb or ‘dolmen’ dating from 3,700 bc – 2,700 BC.

For those keen to explore even more, all of the attractions of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean are within easy access, where you can enjoy everything from paddle boarding atop the Wye’s wonderful waters to fine dining at one of the many refined restaurants in Ross-on-Wye.
